Notable Projects

  • Memorial trees in honor of George and Martha Washington were given with appropriate ceremonies to Adams State University.
  • Relics have been placed in both Fort Garland Museum and Luther Bean Museum at Adams State University.
  • Contributions have been donated to keep the Pike Stockade open and protected.
  • Support of local students has occurred through scholarships and awards.
  • Flags have been given to many organizations.
  • Several old and rare books have been placed on college library shelves.
  • Our chapter placed the beautiful silk flag and several history books in the public library in town.
  • We work in concert with regional veteran groups on events and memorials.
  • We donate wreaths annually to Homelake Cemetery for the “Wreaths Across America” project held each year in December.
  • We participate in naturalization ceremonies held at Great Sand Dunes National Park by being in attendance, announcing, and handing out flags to new citizens.
